Davis Mountains Preserve

After a few days of wet and cold, the sun came out. This weekend was the Nature Conservancy open weekend at the Davis Mountain Preserve, so off we went.

Beautiful native grasses
This is the bark of Alligator Juniper
The roads weren’t bad so we drove down, parked, and walked some trails.
Dry creek bed, but pools of water in certain places.

Overall it was a good day with great weather especially since it was way below freezing a few days ago. We left after staying about 2.5 hours and headed back to Alpine.

The moon even came out for a picture.

The sun made for some interesting colors in the tall grass.
Beautiful little church next to Sleeping Lion Mountain in Fort Davis.
