As I said in a previous post, we had found some T-bones and tonight was the night to grill. T-bone steaks, baked taters, veggies, and fresh peach cobbler. All cooked on the grill.
Peaches
Trip to Alpine
We had to go to Alpine yesterday for several things. Dr. appt for Laura to get her meds refilled, and I had to pick up my meds also. I had a little job to do (real estate). Picked up a few items at Blue water health store. Went grocery shopping, got some great looking T-bones, and had lunch at El Patio. Truck needed gas…it had gone up some-$2.13. Arrived at 10:30 and left at 3:30. Pretty much spent most of the day in Alpine.
Got our first ripe tomato and squash from the garden. Had to change some plants out to containers because of the ground squirrels digging them up.
We have had several peach deserts now, glad we went out and picked some because that tree is about done with the birds and animals eating a lot of them. The peaches are so good!!
Rain, Peaches, and Bugs
Yes, it’s been raining. Love to watch the clouds form. You can see for hundreds of miles. This storm dropped 2 inch hail in Sanderson just east of us. We got no hail here.
Between rain storms we have been picking peaches. As I posted in a previous post we have a peach tree that is loaded with fruit. One of the campers made the office a peach cobbler. We have had some peach desserts also with more to come!!
Maybe all the rain has brought out some bugs, insects, spiders and such…
It’s back to work again tomorrow, but just 2 more days to go. Things have slowed down some with the summer upon us and the heat down in the Big Bend.
Marathon Peaches
We have a peach tree on the property that is loaded with fruit. Trying to harvest a few before all the birds get them. Maybe enough for all…what do you think?
