Out and About in Alpine

Had the day off, went to do laundry and walked around town a bit.

Someone is very artistic with a cutting torch and welder.

Let’s go take a closer look at the train station…

Sundown in Marathon

It’s been a windy, but cool day today with a threat of rain for the next 3 days. Lots of clouds so I thought the sunset might be good tonight. Decided to walk around and see what I could find.

Pretty easy to find a train, these guys stay busy all day and night.

Just like that it was gone…very short one. It will probably be back soon.

Ahh-yes….there it comes.

Trains in Marathon Texas

Yes, we are right across the road from the train tracks. But, it gives you an opportunity to see a lot of trains, mainly two-Union Pacific freight, and Amtrak. Union Pacific comes by at least 4-5 times daily. Amtrak only about 2 times a week. Here is one that came by while I was out with my camera.

Alpine Texas

Went to Alpine today. It was time to do some grocery shopping and laundry.

After our clothes were done we had lunch at El Patio. Great place to have some very good Mexican food!!

Union Pacific train, this is the same one that comes by our campground several times a day and night. The train horns are very loud….yep I know.
