Pileated Woodpecker

I have been hearing these since we arrived, but never got a very good shot because they are usually very high in the trees. Well this morning I heard one and was determined to get some decent pictures. This one was about 60 ft up. The Pileated Woodpecker is the largest woodpecker in North America unless you happen upon a very rare Ivory Billed. Taken with a Tamron 70-300mm lense.

Getting Old

Getting Old….You know I drove to the store a few days ago and after parking I realized I had forgot my glasses. Panic mode kicked in!! Now I don’t need them to drive but anything else like reading I NEED them. Searched thru all the truck…even though I own about 25 pair scattered everywhere (except the truck) no extra pair anywhere. I finally found a sunglass/reader pair which even though it was a very cloudy day, stuck them on my head and there I went.
It got me thinking….

Am I the only one who sees someone and thinks wow they look old, and then realize they are the same age as me or younger.

I depend on my vast collection of reading glasses. (btw, I have several pair in the truck now.) Having a pair with you are just like putting your pants on, they are a part of your wardrobe. Thank goodness it’s the glasses I forget and not the pants!!

My bottles of antacid are pretty important also. Especially after that greasy plate of enchiladas.

The most important criteria on clothes are comfort. No white tube socks with sandals….Yet

I don’t mind asking for a senior discount, the funny thing I usually don’t have to ask.

Well off to the chiropractor to see if I can rid of this pain in my shoulder….now where are my glasses.

Internet Access Solved!!

Being mobile has a few problems and one is internet access. When we are in a park there is usually wifi available but it is shared by everyone else in the park with you. It’s usually slow and not very reliable. I even made us a couple of boosters for the wifi which helped, but bottom line it was still a problem.

Searching for a long term solution that was affordable was difficult. Well I finally found something. Att has a device called the ZTE Mobley. It plugs into your vehicle OBD port and turns your car into a mobile hotspot using LTE network. Hook up to 5 devices and unlimited data for $20.00 a month.

I found a Ac adapter on Amazon to plug into the wall so I don’t have to use it in a vehicle and it works great. We ended up buying 2 Mobley units for $99 each (no contract) and adapters for both. We keep one at work and one in the RV. Att says they may slow speeds down after 22 gb, but we are up to almost 200gb and haven’t noticed any slower speeds. It’s been fast enough to stream movies with no problems. So for $20 a month we have unlimited data to use anywhere we travel. Problem solved!!
